FQA

Q1: What is the X-Tree reticle on the Aquilifer 6-24x50, and why is it better for long-range shooting?

The Aquilifer 6-24x50 uses a Christmas Tree (X-Tree) FFP reticle — a competition-grade design with holdover points and wind leads that spread outward and downward like a tree. Because it's on the First Focal Plane, the reticle scales proportionally across the full 6–24x range, so every MRAD holdover mark stays accurate at any magnification. This makes it ideal for PRS competitions, long-range precision shooting, and rapid wind/elevation corrections without touching the turrets.

Q2: What does ED glass mean, and what difference does it make on the 6-24x50?

ED stands for Extra-Low Dispersion glass. Standard glass splits light into color fringe (chromatic aberration) at high magnification, causing blurry edges. The 6-24x50's ED glass minimizes this effect, delivering sharper, higher-contrast images — especially at 24x. Combined with fully multi-coated optics and a 50mm objective lens achieving up to 95% light transmittance, targets remain crisp and bright even at dawn, dusk, or in overcast conditions.

Q3: How do the Zero-Stop turrets work on the Aquilifer 6-24x50?

The 6-24x50 features 1/10 MIL (MRAD) locking turrets with a zero-stop mechanism. After zeroing your rifle, set the zero-stop so that when you dial back down, the turret physically stops at your confirmed zero — no counting clicks, no guessing. Each click moves point of impact 0.1 MRAD (approximately 1 cm at 100 meters). Total adjustment range is 100 MOA for both elevation and windage, providing ample correction for extreme long-range engagements.

Q4: What is the parallax adjustment range on the 6-24x50, and why does it matter?

The 6-24x50 features a side parallax adjustment dial with a range of 10 yards to infinity. Parallax error causes the reticle to appear to shift against the target when your eye moves slightly off-center — this is critical to eliminate at high magnification. The side-mounted dial allows fast, one-hand parallax correction without breaking your shooting position, making it essential for PRS competitors and precision long-range hunters.

Q5: What platforms and mounts are compatible with the Aquilifer 6-24x50 FFP?

The 6-24x50 uses a 30mm main tube, compatible with standard 30mm rings and cantilever mounts. It fits any bolt-action, semi-automatic, or precision rifle with a Picatinny or Weaver rail. At 287mm length and 900g, a 30mm high or extra-high ring set is recommended to clear the 50mm objective lens on most flat-top AR and bolt-action platforms. Aquilifer's own 34mm cantilever mount with a 30mm insert is also compatible.
